Back in the saddle...

OK- I am now back, rested and ready for work after some serious vacation fun in Wisconsin. I think it was probably the longest I've gone without writing some kind of entry here.
And I didn't feel guilty about that at all. Well I did think about it. But I was staying with a friend and she only has a dial-up connection, so that was a factor, too.

The only voiceover related items I did was field email, and saved scripts for my return to the booth. There were a few choice auditions, too: For Milk, (got milk?) a PBS Kids character, and some Clorox commercials that came via Voicebank.

I put together a makeshift "studio" in my pal's basement and recorded my auds with a usb mic I take with me when I am on vacation, just for this sort of thing. I baffled the recording area walls with towels and I wrapped myself in a comforter. Sounded OK!

But I also had a lot of fun in the kayak, swimming, going out to dinner, visiting family, and a cheese factory. Plenty of hiking and boating too.

We went to the Stone Bank Corn & Brat Roast, ate, drank some good Milwaukee Beer, and danced into the evening to a fabulous, SMOKIN' 12-piece band.

Oh my goodness. I am definitely 3-4 lbs. heavier. Going on a jiuce fast tomorrow!

So glad you had some nice time off Bobbin! I've been to Milwaukee once and had an amazing time. They say distance makes the heart grow fonder, and I think that's the case when you don't blog for awhile.....we missed you! Talk soon...

Cool Bobbin! Glad you're all rested. Which USB mic did you use?

      Hi Stefania,
I have a Samson C01U. I think it's about $100.00. It's easily portable and sounds just fine for the quick audition when on vacation, and I don't have to lug my other  regular strudio gear. (M-Box, Neumann mic, Microport Pro, Mic cords, stand, etc.)
      Best,
      Bobbin
